Contemporary Division (coming soon in September 2012)
The Contemporary Division educates and encourages the development of Modern Dance technique. The classic techniques, choreography and styles of great American Modern Masters are used to cultivate and highlight the inherent joy and freedom found in Contemporary movement.
Here are our current contemporary classes:
Upper Division Contemporary Company (September 2011)
In preparation for the launch of our Pre-Professional Modern/Contemporary Training Program in September 2012, CBT is proud to present the formation of the Upper Division Contemporary Company. Company participation includes weekly technique class, a weekly company class, and a Master Class series with internationally known teachers, choreographers and dancers, as well as choreography workshops and performances.
Lower Division Modern/Contemporary
Dancers are introduced to the basic techniques of Martha Graham and Paul Taylor. Musicality, muscle control and coordination are stressed. Participants must have at least 2 years of ballet training.
Upper Division Modern/Contemporary
Dancers are challenged with complex contemporary technique and movement patterns based on the techniques of Graham, Limon, Taylor and Humphrey. Full body integration, strength, musicality, stamina and stage craft are emphasized. Participants must have at least 5 years of ballet training.
