History
Since 1991, the three fold mission of the Classical Ballet Theatre (CBT) is to provide education, performance and outreach opportunities in the performing arts to Northern Virginia and the surrounding communities. CBT provides the highest caliber of training, performing and coaching opportunities to prepare young dancers for a career in the performing arts. CBT provides exceptional performance opportunities with world renowned choreographers while offering high quality productions to the community at affordable prices. CBT's extensive community outreach includes free performing arts enrichment programs for local schools and underserved populations, and "tribute" performances that raise public awareness for worthy causes and honor members of our community.
The Classical Ballet Theatre performs throughout the community during the year in an ongoing basis with main stage productions at the Annandale Northern Virginia Community College's Ernst Theater for CBT's annual Nutcracker and Spring performance.
Philosophy
The professional faculty of the Classical Ballet Theatre will ask the very best of each student. In return we will dedicate to each student the attention they deserve, stressing the values of hard work, discipline, artistic growth, and commitment to excellence. We will encourage each dancer to reach the highest level of their individual potential in a positive, nurturing environment.
